How the Coaching Groups WorkEach group of no more than 12 persons meets one a month in a conference call or online learning platform with John Collins, a trained personal and executive coach. Depending on the group, some sessions are 1 hour in duration, others last for an hour and half.
Flexibility - The discussions that take place in each coaching sessions are driven by the contributions of the clients. Although some structure is in place to ensure basic objectives are met, it is the input of the clients that sets the tone and pace of every session. Outcomes - Over the course of the year, each group discusses critical themes that are important to their work. Clients are individually and collectively coached to identify personal and professional priorities and are encouraged to establish a plan for improving themselves and their work environment. Clients are held accountable for completing basic work and reading assignments and following through on agreed-upon tasks. Support - By interacting with peers and hearing each other's goals, worries, and challenges, each client develops a sense of belonging and professional insight that accelerates growth and innovation in their current positions. Group Placement - Each group is filled on a first-come, first-served basis; however, liberty is taken to ensure maximum geographical diversity to avoid, when possible, multiple clients from a single laboratory or state, which is discouraged. If enrollment is excessive, additional groups can be formed to accommodate additional clients. |
